About Robert
I offer one-to-one counselling based on the Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy model. My approach to the work involves the understanding that the hurts we experience cause wounds within us, wounds which result in us having hidden, painful thoughts and feelings which we are generally taught to avoid. As a result of this we learn over time to disconnect from our own internal experience – my belief is that this disconnection is what causes the problems we typically seek therapy for.
My hope is to work alongside you to help you build awareness of your internal experience – and to explore with you whether there might be another way to deal with your pain and anxiety, one that might leave you able to respond to the events of your life with a more adaptive, resilient, and compassionate sense of your own self.
