About Sandra (Sandy)
Navigating life while your nervous system is trapped in chronic survival mode can feel entirely exhausting. Prolonged stress changes how we navigate our daily routines and relationships, often leaving a lingering baseline of anxiety and distress that is incredibly difficult to shake.
In my practice as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), I provide a down-to-earth, relational space where we use specialized knowledge to build real, everyday strategies. My style is completely authentic. I do not expect anyone to fit into a rigid clinical mold, and I skip textbook theories in favour of genuine respect and practical tools.
My work is deeply rooted in over 25 years of experience as an educator, school administrator, and community leader. I developed The Whyse Approach to mental health, taught trauma and resilience courses for the Summer Institute at UBC Okanagan, and have consulted extensively on Indigenous cultural safety frameworks. I bring this diverse background directly into our sessions to offer clear insight and sustainable relief. Taking the first step toward support is an act of bravery, and we will always move forward at a pace that feels safe for you.
