About Shannon
I’m Shannon, the founder of Shannon May Counselling and a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), RCC #24884. I hold a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Adler University and a Bachelor’s in Child and Youth Care from the University of Victoria. Based in Greater Vancouver, I specialize in supporting individuals navigating trauma, eating disorders, and relationship challenges, offering a warm, compassionate, and client-centered approach.
I believe that healing happens through connection, and I strive to create a safe and collaborative space where you can explore your experiences, process emotions, and build resilience. With a background in social work and extensive experience in trauma-informed care, I understand the profound impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and how they shape our sense of self, relationships, and overall well-being. My approach is integrative, drawing from evidence-based practices while tailoring therapy to your unique needs.
Whether you’re feeling stuck in unhealthy patterns, struggling with self-worth, or working through past wounds, I’m here to support you in finding clarity, healing, and meaningful change. You don’t have to navigate this journey alone—together, we can work toward a life that feels more fulfilling and authentic.
