About Suad

Suad believes that for each of us, working towards growth, self-understanding, acceptance, change and healing is a lifelong journey, which at some points can benefit from the support of a counsellor. Suad strives to honour the uniqueness of each client’s history and lived experience by providing a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their inner thoughts and feelings and work through difficulties to create a meaningful life.

Using a holistic and trauma informed approach, Suad utilizes a combination of therapies to help clients get unstuck, build practical skills, address underlying themes, and get back to a place of greater connectedness to themselves and others.

Suad is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. She holds a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from Simon Fraser University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Psychology and minoring in Counselling. Suad is also a Certified Emotion Focused Family Therapist and has training in several therapeutic approaches including: Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

Suad has over 15 years experience working in non profit agencies, government, and private practice with all populations including adults, parents, youth and children who have struggled with anxiety, depression, domestic violence, eating disorders, substance use, body image, self-esteem/self-worth, stress management, parenting, relationship difficulties, PTSD, and trauma.
