About Yuchen (Sawyer)

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in British Columbia, Canada, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington State, USA. I have advanced training in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). I provide therapy in both English and Mandarin Chinese and have completed over 3,500 hours of supervised clinical counseling through accredited training programs in Canada and the United States. I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions.

I am passionate about helping clients move beyond symptom management toward lasting emotional healing. In addition to treating common mental health concerns, I have experience working with medically unexplained symptoms and functional conditions, including persistent physical symptoms that remain despite normal medical evaluations. My approach is experiential, collaborative, and tailored to each individual, helping clients understand the connection between emotions, the mind, and the body while fostering resilience, healthier relationships, and meaningful, sustainable change.
