Are you passionate about helping parents and parents-to-be during some of the most vulnerable, transformative seasons of their lives? Do you feel called to support people as they move through fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and the beautiful, messy realities of early parenthood? If yes… we’d love to meet you.
The Perinatal Collective is growing, and we’re looking for a warm, grounded, and client-centered Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) who is fully qualified and licensed to support clients living in British Columbia.
In this role, you’ll support people across the perinatal spectrum via online video-based therapy, from people on a fertility journey, to hopeful or expectant parents, to new moms and dads finding their footing, to caregivers navigating identity shifts, relationship changes, grief, trauma, and the many complexities that come with raising tiny humans.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is passionate about perinatal mental health and supporting parents through real-life challenges
- Values trauma-informed, inclusive, culturally-humble care
- Loves working alongside a collaborative, heart-led team
- Is excited to hold space for clients who are seeking therapy that feels validating and human
If you’re a therapist who believes that parents deserve support too, and that early parenthood is both profoundly beautiful and profoundly hard, we’d be honoured to hear from you.

- This is a contract position with a minimum of 8 client sessions per week (with the option to take on more). You’ll have full flexibility to design a schedule that works for you. Competitive per session rate.
- Provide counselling independently and remotely through secure video sessions using our clinic software.
- Join our team for monthly meetings that include case consultation, connection, and ongoing professional development.
- Create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their feelings, understand patterns, and move toward meaningful change.
- Offer education and practical strategies to support parents through common perinatal challenges, including PMADs, identity shifts, mental load, relationship changes, parenting roles, and more.
- Develop thoughtful, personalized treatment plans grounded in your clinical expertise and clients’ goals.
- Maintain clear, confidential documentation in line with professional and organizational standards.
- Stay current on research and best practices in perinatal and relationship counselling so your work is informed, effective, and client-centered.
Knowledge + Qualities
- Strong understanding of the unique challenges faced by new and expecting parents, including PMADs.
- Awareness of the systemic factors that shape parents’ mental health, such as racism, patriarchy, and socioeconomic disparities.
- Demonstrated experience working with LGBTQIA+ clients and other diverse communities.
- Formal training in perinatal mental health (or a clear commitment to continuing education in this area).

- Master’s degree in Counselling, and registered with BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).
- Advanced training in perinatal mental health (or willingness to take training program)
- Exceptional listening and communication skills, with the ability to build strong human connection and rapport over video sessions.
- Cultural humility, and respect for diversity, including the ability to support clients from various cultural, socioeconomic backgrounds, differing values, and who may be involved with various relationship structures outside of traditional monogamy or family structures.
