Inactive – A registration status for individuals not currently practicing clinical counselling/psychotherapy. (Reasons may include health, maternity/paternity leave, travel, etc.)
Active – A registration status for individuals who are actively providing services within the clinical counselling/psychotherapy scope of practice.
Consent Agreement –A special note where the individual is under a consent agreement, with or without practice limitations, as a result of a complaint and subsequent investigation outcome.
Suspended – A registration status determined by BCACC’s Inquiry Committee for individuals suspended from practicing for a period of time and until further notice, either by consent in the face of a complaint investigation or pending a hearing, or through terms imposed by the Inquiry Committee or a Professional Conduct Review Panel.
Resigned/Terminated – A status notation for an individual who is a former BCACC member. Former members are prohibited from using the RCC designation or representing themselves as Registered Clinical Counsellors.
Retired – A status notation for an individual who is a former BCACC member and who no longer practices clinical counselling/psychotherapy as a profession or uses the “RCC” designation.
Cancelled – A status notation for an individual who is a former BCACC member and whose registration has been cancelled due to disciplinary issues; the individual is no longer a member in good standing.
A BCACC member may be “not in good standing” for:
- Non-payment of membership dues
- Not complying with a regulatory process
- Not carrying professional liability insurance
