Retired Membership Application

Eligibility

To be a retired member, an applicant must meet the following:
  • Formerly held the RCC Designation
  • Was a member in good standing with BCACC in the past year for a minimum of one year
  • is no longer practicing and plans not to practice as a clinical counsellor/ psychotherapist (i.e., charging for the counselling services, including clinical supervision/consultation)
  • is a Canadian citizen or has established primary residency in Canada
This membership is available for both former members who have retired and current members who are retiring. BCACC may not accept an application for the retired membership from an applicant with an unresolved issue with BCACC or another regulatory body until the issue is resolved to its satisfaction.

Acknowledgement

Retired members of BCACC agree to:
  1. Accurately represent themselves as retired members of BCACC without using RCC designation.
  2. Not charge for counselling services, including working with clients and providing clinical supervision and consultation.
  3. Understand that they do not have voting rights and cannot be on the Board of Directors of the BCACC
  4. Understand that they can volunteer for selected positions at BCACC
  5. Understand that they can keep the same member number but cannot represent themselves as RCCs and that the member registry will list them as retired members
  6. Go through the formal BCACC reinstatement process if they desire to hold the RCC designation to practice.

Certification

I CERTIFY that I meet the eligibility and have read and understood the acknowledgement statements on this application.
I CERTIFY that I will notify BCACC immediately in writing if circumstances change that result in the need for me to change the information on this application.
