Lunch & Learn – DBT: What Is It and Who Is It For?

November 3 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm PST

BCACC Workshop / Lunch & Learn

Free for Members

One of the most common questions asked by clinicians, organizations, and members of the public is: Who is DBT actually for?

This one-hour introductory workshop explores the foundational principles of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, including the treatment modes and functions involved in an effective comprehensive DBT program. Participants will develop a clearer understanding of who may benefit from DBT, when it may be the most appropriate intervention, and when another treatment approach may be more suitable.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the background and principles of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
  • Understand the modes and functions of an effective Dialectical Behaviour Therapy program.
  • Identify the core clinical features and presentations that indicate DBT as an appropriate intervention.
  • Differentiate between people who are a strong fit for comprehensive DBT versus other evidence-based treatment approaches.
